个人简介:Rob Dwyer-Joyce,英国谢菲尔德大学Leonardo摩擦学与表面工程中心主任,英国皇家工程院院士(FREng),英国机械工程师学会会士(FIMechE),美国机械工程师学会会士(ASME Fellow),润滑工程与技术学会会士(STLE Fellow)。曾任IMechE Journal of Tribology主编,现任ASME Journal of Tribology、Lubrication Science、Biotribology、Friction等期刊编委。长期从事润滑科学、超声检测、接触力学及结构健康监测等方向研究,在摩擦磨损、油膜厚度测量等领域做出系统性贡献。荣获机械工程师学会(IMechE)Donald Julius Groen奖、美国润滑工程师学会(STLE)Frank P. Bussick奖及Edmund Bisson奖。

讲座简介:Accurate measurement of oil films in engineering components is critical to ensuring effective lubrication, minimizing wear, and improving operational reliability. Traditional measurement techniques often face challenges related to accuracy, invasiveness, and real-time applicability. Ultrasonic technology has emerged as a reliable non-destructive method for oil film evaluation, offering advantages such as high precision, non-invasiveness, and suitability for in-situ monitoring. This paper discusses the fundamental principles of ultrasonic oil film measurement, including signal reflection, time-frequency analysis, and acoustic impedance considerations. The application of ultrasonic techniques is demonstrated through engineering case studies involving journal bearings, rolling-element bearings, and cylinder liner–piston ring systems, where real-time oil film monitoring contributes to enhanced performance. The results highlight the practicality of ultrasound-based methods in industrial environments, supporting predictive maintenance and optimized lubrication management.
